Belleville Henderson Announces School Budget Revote Details

The Belleville Henderson Board of Education and District is currently working on a modified budget and would like to give the community an opportunity to revote on that budget on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Our goal is to present a budget that will not negatively affect the education of our students and fall within the state mandated tax cap.

The District must follow strict guidelines from the New York State Education Department in terms of this revote. These guidelines allow for only one revote. If the modified budget presented does not pass on the second vote, the District must follow a contingent budget. More information on the modified budget and the contingent budget will be explained at a budget hearing listed below.

The timeline for the budget revote is as follows:

Board Meeting-the Board of Education will meet on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 4 pm to review and approve a revised budget.

Budget Hearing-a budget hearing that is open to the public will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium.

Budget Revote-the revote on the modified budget will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Early and Absentee Voting-once the Board of Education approves a revised budget; Board Clerk Mrs. Kohl will support early and absentee voting. We do encourage the community to come to the public hearing on June 11 at 6:30 pm and to vote on June 18 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In summary, the Board of Education and the Belleville Henderson Central School District appreciates the support of the community. We encourage our community to vote on Tuesday, June 18 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
